OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder has much cause to be popping champagne after it was announced that his band’s single ‘Counting Stars’ was the 9th biggest selling single of 2013, which also marked the bands first UK number one, and at number 19 in the chart was Ellie Goulding‘s track ‘Burn’ which Ryan co-wrote.
He has also been working alongside the likes of Beyoncé by co-writing the track ‘XO’ which features on her newly released eponymous album, and he’s been writing with Adele who is set to release her album later on this year. Ryan’s past work includes Beyoncé‘s hit ‘Halo’ and Leona Lewis‘ ‘Bleeding Love’.
Speaking about his success Ryan said: “I am thrilled to be apart of the year end chart. Growing up, the UK music scene was my biggest influence, so it’s cool to be a part of it now as a writer and performer.”
Well Ryan’s certainly had a busy 2013 and things this year are only looking up with OneRepublic‘s UK tour kicking off in London on March 16th. You can check out the track ‘Counting Stars’ below!
