EofE may have only been together since 2012 but they have already had the pleasure of supporting both McBusted and The Vamps on their UK arena tours. Now on the road again on their very first headline tour, we speak to the band about show rituals, fans and plans for the future.
HTF: For people who may not know much about you yet, how would you describe the band in three words?
EofE: Energetic, raw, live.
HTF: Where does the name EofE come from?
EofE: The name comes from the James Dean film East of Eden. We are big fans of James Dean and we thought it was a cool title, we shortened it to EofE so we could be found easier on social media!!
HTF: This year you’ve supported McBusted and The Vamps on their arena tours – how was that experience?!
EofE: It was an incredible experience, we are very humbled to have had these two massive UK tours so early in our career. It was a great platform to launch our own tour after.
HTF: How does playing smaller venues on your current tour compare?
EofE: We really enjoy the intimacy of these venues, it takes us back to our roots and we can engage the crowd a lot more.
HTF: Do you have any pre-show rituals?
EofE: Yeah, we have our vocal warm up regime then a pre-show shot of Jack Daniels before having a huddle to get each other pumped for the show.
HTF: You seem to have been on tour for most of 2014. What do you like to do when you’re not on the road?
EofE: We are always really busy – when we’re not on tour we’re writing and recording. We love to relax with our families and friends when we can as well.
HTF: You seem to have a very passionate fan base already, have you been given any weird gifts?
EofE: We get loads of cakes and chocolate! We once received some Ann Summers jelly boobs and Tom always gets Kinder Beunos and Nicky gets Reese’s Pieces
HTF: Are there any plans for an EofE album anytime soon?
EofE: We are currently in the writing and demoing stage of an album at the moment. We are planning to release a debut album sometime next year.
HTF: What inspires your song writing the most?
EofE: We take our musical inspiration from every genre. We are all very diverse in our music tastes so it makes for a very interesting time when seeing where a song is going and the lyrics always come from personal experiences.
HTF: What do you hope 2015 holds for you guys?
EofE: We’re hoping for everyone to like our album and to hopefully tour some more, maybe even visit the US and Europe.
