The Stone Roses are to release their first new material in over twenty years tonight. The music would be the first since Ten Story Love Song B-Sides ‘Moses’ and ‘Ride On’.
The group, who split in 1996 and reformed back in 2011, have been strongly rumored in the past to be on the verge of new material. The band talked of new material when they reformed for a series of concerts in 2012, but nothing came to immediate fruition. There were then rumors the group would release new material and had already completed a new album. The band were spotted at London’s Church Studios and eventually confirmed they were in the process of recording new material.
The band previewed this new single by putting their iconic lemon logo across digital billboards in the Manchester area. They are due to play a series of concerts at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on 15,17,18 and 19th of June.
