Primal Scream have announced Debbie Googe of My Bloody Valentine will join the group’s ever revolving line up for the foreseeable future. The group had been looking for a new bassist since the departure of Mani to rejoin his old band The Stone Roses.
Googe will make her live debut for the band at Inverness Ironworks on June 14 before moving on to a series of summer dates including Hop Farm, Isle of Wight and Festival Number 6 festivals as well as supporting former bandmate Mani’s Stone Roses gig at Heaton Park on 29th June.
Primal Scream fans may also note this isn’t the first time that a My Bloody Valentine member has joined the band’s ranks with guitarist Kevin Shields touring with the band since 1997. Primal Scream are currently working on their follow up to 2008 album ‘Beautiful Future’.
