We have always been followers and supporters of The Prodigy here at Hit The Floor, but our patience has been rewarded, as they have just announced some details regarding their as of yet unnamed new album!
In a recent interview made with NME, the brainchild and songwriter Liam Howlett, said that the album will be released later this year. He also compared it to their 2009 studio effort ‘Invaders Must Die’, stating :
“It’s more violent-sounding; it feels wilder. It’s not so much old-school. It’s neither guitar-based not synth-based; it’s kind of a mixture.” He added: “It doesn’t feel so radio-friendly to me; it feels like its got a lot of edge.”
In a previous interview back in 2012, Liam Howlett mentioned that the album would be called ‘How To Steal A Jet Fighter’. But this has now been confirmed that this is not the case! Offering another brief explanation, he says :
“I’ve got a new title but you can’t have it. It’s too early! I’ve written everything and I’m basically going through each track and making sure they’re firing.”
The Prodigy will headline Sonisphere Festival this weekend (4th-6th July) along with Metallica, and Iron Maiden. They will then also be headlining Global Gathering Festival (25th-26th July) later this month.
