As ITV4 have been re-running the James Bond films starring Sean Connery recently, we thought we would them and see which one we think is the best!
Connery played the role of British spy James Bond, code name 007, in seven Eon productions between 1962 and 1971. Connery also played the role in the 1983 film Never Say Never Again, but it was not an Eon production and it is not included in the franchise.
He is tied with Roger Moore for the most portrayals of the character; Connery was offered the opportunity of playing Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, but he was eventually turned away by the producers of the franchise as a result of him reportedly asking for too much money. The role went to the Australian George Lazenby; should the role have been played by Connery, he would have appeared in eight films playing Bond, and would have held the record for most appearances.
So, let’s see how each of his Eon performances rate against each other!
