It certainly looks like they aren’t afraid of any ghosts as hit Ghostbusters is set for re-release to mark the 30th anniversary of the film.
The film was released in the United States 30 years ago this month while UK audiences had to wait until December.
To celebrate the anniversary the film is being re-released Stateside. The classic supernatural comedy finds Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) Ray Stanz (Dan Aykroyd) and Egon Spengler (the late Harold Ramis) who set up their own company to capture and control wayward spirits after been forced out of university. The film will be back on American cinema screens on August 29 on more than 700 screens. As part of the anniversary, various celebrations, other events and merchandise will be available. including a 25th anniversary issue of the sequel.
The 30th anniversary marks its first appearance onto Blu-ray, with new features and deleted scenes. It is unknown whether there will be any re-release here in the UK.
