During last years Met Ball, many guests paid homage to a decade of latex, safety pins and hairstyles that could make a cactus envious. All of this was in celebration of the opening of the “PUNK:Chaos to Couture” exhibition.  However, this year the tables have turned, and the ball is returning to it’s formal ways. The dress code for men has been revealed to be a black suit with white tie combination, but not everyone is impressed by this decision.

Marc Jacobs has spoken about his distain towards the dress code for the Met Ball this year. The well-renowned fashion designer was caught calling this year’s theme “much more straightforward” than in previous years.

Referring to his illustrious Comme des Garçons outfit that we wore to the event in 2012, he said: “I mean it’s not as exciting as wearing a lace dress and boxer shorts. But that was only for Miuccia Prada.” That year, the dress code was donned ‘Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations’

He told The Cut that he’d be wearing Saint Laurent to this year’s event, and most importantly, he will be escorting American Horror Story actress, Jessica Lange to the event.
