With an unfiltered social media presence, Halsey isn’t one to shy away from attention. Directed by Malia James, the 20-year-old’s latest music video for hit track ‘Ghost’ sees the singer in a hotel room looking over the bright lights of Tokyo.
“I was pretty much like, ‘ok, enough videos of me and some male lead making out,'” she told The FADER. “I wanted to approach this one from a different perspective.”
“Is it a friend, a girlfriend, a part of herself? I wanted to see some representation of a lesbian relationship that wasn’t over sexualized. Just two people in love—or at least they used to be,” she continued.
The track will be featured on Halsey’s upcoming album Badlands, which is out 28 August.
