Cara Delevingne Raises £9300 For Cecil The Lion

Cara Delevingne has auctioned off her own limited edition TAG Heuer Carrera Cara watch to raise money for WildCRU after Cecil the lion’s brutal murder.

Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne has clearly been moved by the recent killing of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe. Delevingne is the latest celebrity to speak out about the tragedy, and she has raised money for WildCRU, the wildlife conservation group that followed Cecil before his death, by auctioning her own watch on eBay.

The watch in question was a prototype for her special edition TAG Heuer timepiece. The Tag Heuer Carrera Cara watch, created in collaboration with the luxury Swiss brand, has a lion’s face inscribed on the reverse of the case. The eBay auction raised an amazing £9300 for WildCRU.

Following the news of Cecil’s brutal murder last month, the public decided enough was enough, with protests and petitions popping up everywhere.

Cara wrote a passionate piece on eBay to explain her charity auction: “The killing of Cecil the Lion was a tragedy. Today join me to help the scientists who care about the future of wild lions in Africa and work very hard on their conservation. Ahead of the official sale of my TAG Heuer Signature Edition I decided to auctixon my personal timepiece prototype. I wore this watch on several occasions and during the last Monaco Grand Prix (pic attached). The full amount will be refunded to, the research unit that followed Cecil for many years. SO LETS JOIN FORCES!”

Even if you didn’t have £9300 to spare to weren’t able to snag Cara’s unique watch, money can still be donated to WildCRU here.
