Our Favourite Scottish Bands

The Xcerts have released their brand new video ‘Shaking In The Water’, and with it we decided to list five of our other favourite Scottish bands.

The XcertsThe Xcerts have finally released some brand new material today in the form of new single ‘Shaking In The Water‘. The track has been taken from the band’s long awaited 3rd studio album, which is due to be released later this year.

Front man Murray MacLeod explains a little bit more about ‘Shaking In The Water‘:
We’ve actually been playing this song live for quite a while now so we’re excited to finally release it. Originally this song had a real 60’s vibe to and it was really jangly. Over time it got progressively heavier, i then entered a world of fuzz and the song was truly born. Musically It’s very simple and very fun. Lyrically the song is about helplessness and i how i was solely to blame for finding myself in a regretful position with another person. In previous songs / records i have always found a scapegoat when singing about something I’m to blame for but I’ve grown up a bit and this time round i’m throwing my hands in the air and admitting my faults.”

With the sensational new release from The Xcerts we have been asking ourselves what our favourite Scottish bands are, and we’ve come up with a number of suggestions, so coming up we have compiled five of our favourite Scottish bands, not including The Xcerts, and not in any particular order.
