Flashback to four years ago, almost to the day. The impossible has happened. Hell has frozen over and anything seems possible. Seminal Manchester band The Stone Roses have reunited.
A spell of shows across the following two years met a mixed reception, but the wider consensus seemed to be that the musical world was a better place with the band in it. Talk was rife about a possible third album. Even at their intial reunion press conference, Ian Brown was talking up a potential new album.
And then the silence…
Two years of deadly silence. Talk was rife about the band quietly splitting up, about the chemistry not being there. That they couldn’t live up to the legacy.

So what does it all mean? Is it worth forking out to see them again?
Here’s our list of reasons this latest bout of Roses activity will be epic!

An Ironic Homecoming
Heaton Park might have been the homecoming to beat all homecomings. The ultimate Manchester band playing to tens of thousands of their own. But this is all the more interesting.
Why a group of ardent Man United fans would choose to play at the home of their City rivals is slightly odd, perhaps Old Trafford wasn’t available. But if there is one band that will inspire football like support and dedication, it’s Ian Brown and co.
