When Rock & Film Combine: The Greatest Supergroup You Will Never Hear!

Ever wanted to take the best musicians from the best rock and metal films and put them in a band? We have. So we did.

What are the two best things in the world? Rock music, and films, right? And a well-made burrito but that’s besides the point. Over the years there have been a number of films about the best music there is… but what if they formed a supergroup?

Lestat

Vocals – Lestat (Queen of the Damned)

Voiced in the films by Jonathan Davies of Korn, who best to take on vocal duties? As well as having a voice that can suit literally every style of heavy music, Lestat also looks the part, and has the added bonus of being mostly immortal.

Bill & Ted

Guitars – Ted “Theodore” Logan & Bill S. Preston, Esquire (Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure/Bogus Journey)

This one may seem fairly obvious, but that’s just because it’s such a good shout. Their exuberant personalities may seem a bit detached from Lestat’s brooding, gothic nature, but you need a little variety in the band, and when Bill & Ted start shredding away like they would in their other project Wyld Stallyns, no one would be arguing.

Waynes World

Guitars – Wayne Campbell (Wayne’s World)

Yes, a third guitarist. You got a problem take it up with Iron Maiden. We feel like Wayne would be a perfect fit with the stylings of Bill & Ted, plus he’d be able to get us some big media backing right from the get go. And we all know he can headbang like the best of them.

derek-smalls

Bass – Derek Smalls (This is Spinal Tap)

Imagine taking the playing ability of Steve Dawson from Saxon, the look of Lemmy and the comedic wit of Bill, Ted and Wayne. And then tell us that there isn’t anyone better to hold down the low-end for our little side-project than Spinal Tap’s Derek Smalls.

Tenacious D

Drums – Satan (Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny)

Yep. The Devil himself. Played by Dave Grohl in the film, and with all of the musical talent that Grohl possesses (as well as being, you know, the actual devil) not only does Satan bring weight to the name, but he also has the musical chops to back it up.

And you know what? Here’s how they’d probably sound:
