The world’s biggest metal band (and yes, you know who we’re talking about), Metallica are set to take the stage at Knebworth’s Sonisphere Festival on the 6th July. The fan request line-up is shaping up to be packed with hits such as ‘Master of Puppets’, ‘One’ and ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’. No surprise there.

But with a musical history spanning over 30 years, HTF want to give you a count down of our top 10 off-the-wall Metallica gems that we’d love to see make this year’s line-up.

10. Fixxxer
Today’s Metallica sets seem to consistently neglect albums Load (1996) and Reload (1997); the last two Metallica albums to feature ex-bassist Jason Newsted. It saw the band head towards an edgier and quirker stance, and we’d love to see Reload’s closing track ‘Fixxxer’ make an appearance at Sonisphere. In true Metallica style, its a track that doesn’t hold back in length, or in lyrical content drawing on influence from frontman James Hetfield’s father. The song’s subject matter, alongside at times haunting moments and addicting riffs make it a forgotten track that craves being brought back to the live stage.
