When most people think of Arizona, they envision great big expanses of desert. Most people — even Americans from other states — would likely be unable to point out the state on a map, let alone list any of its exports… but what you may find surprising is that so many successful bands hail from there. The music scene, particularly in the capital city of Phoenix, is second to none and has produced an absolutely phenomenal amount of talent over the years. If you haven’t screamed along to ‘The Middle‘ at a rock night in some dingy club, you haven’t lived. Jimmy Eat World proudly hail from Mesa, Arizona, and were one of the pioneers of pop punk in the mid to late 90’s. The band are currently writing material for their ninth studio album… but if you want somewhere to start, 2001’s Bleed American is a masterpiece and still remains as their highest charting record to this day.
