The band may have developed a reputation for some questionable and unreliable live performances over recent years, but they still manage to pull a big crowd hoping to catch just a glimpse of past magic. There’s a promise of a new album to come soon, but maybe they’d be better off if they just stick to the classics anyway?

Tool

Perhaps this is wishful thinking for Tool fans, who have been waiting for a new album since 2006. With the band coming clean about the delays earlier this year, a recent post on their website stating that work on the album has been ‘progressing rather nicely’ and guitarist Adam Jones posting a picture on Instagram that shows the structure of a new song, perhaps the album could finally be in touching distance. With the band’s reputation for putting on an incredible live show, we can always dream.

They were supposed to headline the festival when it was cancelled in 2012, so with a world tour taking place this year and next, a Sonisphere headline slot would make sense now that the festival’s back on it’s feet. With a new album coming out later this year featuring unreleased tracks with original frontman Freddie Mercury, the timing couldn’t be better.
