New Years Resolutions For Our Favourite Bands

We’ve thought up our own new years resolutions, so we thought what better to do now than try to think of resolutions for our favourite bands!

2017 is now well and truly underway. We’ve had some time to think of our own resolutions for the upcoming year, which involves more gigs and checking out more new bands, so what better time to ponder what resolutions some of the bands we love should have.

Brand New – Release Album #5

The life of a Brand New fan is stressful to say the least. The band are constantly teasing us in forms of hints and riddles. Having promised the release of their long-awaited fifth (and most likely final) album last year, the band announced a delay towards the end of 2016. Here’s to hoping this record sees the light of day in 2017 so there’s time or a UK tour cycle before that looming breakup.

Joel & Benji Madden (Good Charlotte) – Cook More

Musicians, clothing designers, The Voice Australia Coaches, managers – is there anything the Madden Brothers can’t do? After their recent stint on Masterchef, it’s now out to the world that cooking can be added to the twins’ ever-growing list of talents. We think there should be more home-cooked meals on their menus this year (and hopefully without any shells this time!)

Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones) Complete 50 Jigsaw Puzzles

Ronnie Wood once revealed that he’s a pretty big fan of a good ol’ jigsaw puzzle. Now, this isn’t one of the most eclectic rockstar habits, but it’s a pretty fun one nonetheless. So we think this year, whenever he’s got time off on the road/ at home, we challenge Ronnie to complete 50 jigsaw puzzles this year!

Simon Neil – Try More Adventurous Hairstyles

Biffy Clyro‘s frontman definitely has an enviable mane, and that’s putting it lightly. While we’ve definitely seen him mix it up in the past i.e. alternating between wearing it down and up in a bun, we think 2017 is the year to finally be a little more adventurous. Maybe it’s time to give the french braid a whirl?

American Football – Release An Album That Isn’t Self-Titled

American Football was once a band mysteriously became an emo cult classic with just one EP and one album under their belt. However, following their reformation in 2014 (finally after over a decade!), the band released their second album. Here’s where it gets confusing though – the band have an EP and two albums ALL titled American Football. If the band work on any new material this year, we’re hoping it’s for an unfamiliarly titled record. (Although if they were to release American Football (LP 3) who are we to complain?)
