Recently, Nathan Sykes – previously of The Wanted fame – unveiled the video for his debut solo single, Kiss Me Quick. Although the band first formed in late 2010, they announced their split in early 2014 after less than four years together, much to the disappointment of their fans. While his ex-bandmates pursue other endeavors, Nathan has kept to performing and his recent sold out tour suggests he may be set for big things as a solo artist. To celebrate the launch of his career, we take a look at five other artists who left  boy bands and went on to achieve huge success!

1. Nick Jonas

At just 22, Nick Jonas has had a bigger career than many artists ever come close to. After spending years in a trio with his brothers Joe and Kevin, Jonas Brothers split in 2013, after eight years of performing together. Since then, Nick has released a solo album which peaked at Number 6 in the US, achieved a Number 2 single in the UK with ‘Jealous’ and is due to release a second single ‘Chains’ in July. With such a kickstart to his career, we hope his brothers won’t end up, well, jealous of him.
