MOSH Albums Of The Year 2016 – Editors Choices

It’s been a hard task but Mosh’s editor speaks up about her favourite albums of the year.

Last year I remember getting to December and struggling to actually create a top 10 list as there were a few standout albums but everything else I just couldn’t work out what was good enough to be deemed in a top 10. This year is the complete opposite story and there’s so many amazing albums which have come out I found this task hard for an entirely different reason. Below are my top 10 albums’ of the year but because there was so much great music I had to put honorable mentions of my 11-20 choices which appear at the bottom of the page.

1. Good Charlotte – Youth Authority

When it was announced that Good Charlotte were creating a new album I was skeptical. They were a huge part of my teenage years’ and their albums soundtracked the typical angsty time I was going through between 13-17 but when bands come back after such a break I worry. 2016 saw a lot of these bands seem to ‘comeback’ as such including Simple Plan and Sum 41. The first time I heard Youth Authority though my worries were blasted away and I genuinely felt the closest I have in a long time to being a teenager. You can tell from every song on the album that the band aren’t back because they’re getting poor and need money, they’re back because they’re passionate about music and want everyone to know about it.
