MOSH Albums Of The Year 2016 – Editors Choices

It’s been a hard task but Mosh’s editor speaks up about her favourite albums of the year.

Last year I remember getting to December and struggling to actually create a top 10 list as there were a few standout albums but everything else I just couldn't work out what was good enough to be deemed in a top 10. This year is the complete opposite story and there's so many amazing albums which have come out I found this task hard for an entirely different reason. Below are my top 10 albums' of the year but because there was so much great music I had to put honorable mentions of my 11-20 choices which appear at the bottom of the page.

2. Bury Tomorrow – Earthbound

I still find it hard to believe that this album came out in 2016 as it crept in just a month or two into January with it’s heavy riffs and melodies which lurked in my brain for days after my initial listen. Bury Tomorrow are one of my favourite bands and both Union of Crowns and Runes are incredible albums so the next album was always going to be a tricky one but they pulled it off. Melodic hardcore is still an oversaturated genre and Bury Tomorrow do everything they can to push themselves above and beyond the rest. The album is catchy and easy to sing with but is still a heavy album and the vocal bounce between Jason’s melodic vocals and Dan’s heavier growls and screams is still one of the best in the music world.
