Earlier this year, AC/DC announced that founding member Malcolm Young had decided to take a break from the band because of personal health reasons. Unfortunately, due to the nature of his illness, he is unable to return to the band. However, this does not mark an end for AC/DC as they will be releasing their new album Rock or Bust on 2nd December 2014. This will be the band’s first album without Malcolm Young in 41 years. Taking his place will be Stevie Young, nephew of Angus and Malcolm Young, who will also be joining the band as they hit the road.
AC/DC are not the first band to have lost a member, but this does not always have to be a bad thing. Check out these seven bands who also parted ways with their guitarists, but are still awesome!
