The United Kingdom are absolutely killing it in the rock scene right now and are producing great rock bands left, right and centre. One of these bands happens to be London (via Ireland) three-piece The Survival Code who have just released their debut album MMXV (Roman numerals for 2015).
Speaking to lead singer Gary McGuinness at their album launch show early this month, he revealed, “Nothing’s ever the right time, there’s always a more ideal time to approach something so calling it 2015 meant we were gonna release it this year and we had to, otherwise we’d roll into next year. It’s a stamp in time, it’s now.”
Having been together since 2011 their signing to Independent Records Limited was unsurprising considering how hard they’ve been working behind the scenes, with the band taking 20 months out to write and record their debut offering whilst finding their sound. “We’re sticking with what we believe in which, at the moment, is not too much pop and no screaming but enough communication to make it accessible for any audience.”
On top of the new album, McGuinness already has another 25 songs drafted for the band’s sophomore release so don’t expect the guys to slow down anytime soon.
You can catch the trio live in London later this month on September 17th at The Islington Academy.
