We all know Finn Wolfhard as the adorable Eleven-loving Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, or as the hilarious Richie Toizer in the 2017 remake of IT, but did you know that the 14-year-old actor is also a talented musician and frontman of the indie-rock band Calpurnia?
Well, if you didn’t know, now you do. The quartet, consisting of Wolfhard (vocals/guitar), Ayla Tesler-Mabe (guitar), Malcolm Craig (drums), and Jack Anderson (bass), have just signed with Royal Mountain Records—despite having no released tracks. The band are in the process of recording their debut EP with Twin Peak‘s Cadien Lake James , and we gotta say, we’re pretty excited!
It may seem a bit weird to write an introducing piece on a band who haven’t actually released anything yet, but we’re weird so…
And besides, we just really want you all to keep your eyes peeled because if their covers are any indication of what’s to come, the quartet is bound to be one of your favourites.
I mean, this is just one of the members!
Ayla Tesler-Mabe is already a better guitarist at 16 than half of the adults currently in the rock scene. (Although, let’s face it, talent is talent. Age doesn’t matter.) We would honestly give our left arms to be even half as musically talented as Ayla!
