The famed Philly cheese steaks may just not be the best thing to come out of the Northeastern US state of Pennsylvania. In recent years, it seems that PA has increasingly become a breeding ground for some pretty badass bands. There are far too many to mention, but we’ve managed to narrow it down to our top six.

Modern Baseball is one of the most unique bands you will come across these days, trust us you’ll have difficulty finding anyone who sounds remotely like them. The band started out when the guys were attending college in Philadelphia, making a name for themselves playing house shows and taking the DIY approach to releasing their own music. They’ve come a long way from then to the release of their stunning new record Holy Ghost.
