Las Vegas rockers Escape The Fate covered their rendition of ‘Dead!‘, originally by My Chemical Romance, when they played a gig in Brisbane, Australia this week. The track featured on a compilation CD that was released earlier this year by Rock Sound entitled Rock Sound Presents: The Black Parade, which saw a number of well-loved bands covering the iconic album’s 13 tracks.

Escape The Fate’s cover is one of our favourites, naturally, but here’s five more MCR covers from that CD that will go down in history.

5. twenty one pilots – ‘Cancer‘

Also featuring on Rock Sound’s compilation CD was this cover by genre-bending duo twenty one pilots. The original was a quaint, quiet gem of a song, and twenty one pilots have put their own spin on it with electronic beats and vocals haunting enough to match Gerard Way‘s own.
