Bands We Won’t See Live Again & What We’re Missing

Does it make you sad sometimes thinking of the bands you’ll never see again?! We had a think to who we miss

Source, Youtube.com

It has always been one of those age-old questions at the crux of a musical debate ‘which band/artist would you love to see live from the past?’ Bands separate or cease to tour for many reasons and whatever they may be, we the listeners are left pining for an era gone by, wishing we could be at the front of those shows, basking in the presence of our idols.

If we had access to a time machine then I’m sure nobody would hesitate to blast themselves to endless live shows of their choosing. We’ve compiled a list of some of the latest and greatest artists, unfortunately, whom we’ll never get to witness live again, but we are grateful for their contribution to rock music and our ears.

Nirvana

Starting off with perhaps an obvious choice – Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic formed Nirvana in 1987 but the big trio we’d all love to see came to be in 1990 when the living legend that is Dave Ghrol joined the band on drums. They gave us the 90’s sound of angst which fuelled an entire generation, budding young guitarists all over the world will most certainly know how to play the riff to Come as You Are. Perhaps one of the pioneering grunge trio’s most memorable performances was at OK Hotel, in their home city of Seattle, WA  – according to fans this was where crowds first heard an early solo performance of Smells Like Teen Spirit. Following close behind the Seattle show is Reading Festival in 1992, throwing in a cover of Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.
