Martha
Durham-based DIY punk band Martha released their impressive sophomore album Blisters In The Pit of My Heart in the summer and I’ve been hitting replay constantly since then – it’s that good. They’re embracing diversity, ensuring inclusivity and singing their hearts out which will inspire joy in any listener. Infectious hooks and riffs fill you with euphoria, brighten your day and get stuck in your head. Lyrically, they’re full of angst and struggling to find their place in a difficult world. You’ll find it easy to relate to this band and it’s hard not to fall in love with each song all over again every time you hear the album. I can’t wait to see where next year takes them.
