On September 20th, Green Day‘s iconic ‘American Idiot‘ turns 10 (yes, really!). Not only is this an album that launched Green Day into the stratosphere and solidified their place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but it is also one of the biggest selling rock records of all time and has spawned a musical on Broadway, as well as a reported film, due out some time in the future.
So here at Hit The Floor, whilst getting nostalgic and starting to feel rather old, we decided to pick out our top 5 tracks from the album. Of course, to many, this is a ridiculous premise – ‘how can you pick a top 5 from that hour-long slice of solid gold?!’ we hear you ask. Well it wasn’t easy, but we’ve made our selections. Remember though that everything is subjective, so be sure to let us know your top 5 in the comments below!
