3. The band had very different plans for Pinkerton

In 1996, Weezer released their second album Pinkerton to rave reviews and enormous commercial success. The album featured dark undertones to its poetic love songs, a departure from their power-pop debut. However, the Pinkerton that we know and love almost never came to be, as the original idea for their follow-up album was a space-themed rock opera concept album born from the mind of Cuomo. However, once he began studying at Harvard later that year his attitude changed and he scrapped the lot. Oh well.
