Karen O will unveil the first track to be taken from her debut solo album live on BBC Radio 6 tomorrow (July 28).
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer made the announcement yesterday via Twitter, tweeting: ‘Tune in Monday July 28 from 7am est/12pm bst for the premiere of “Rapt” on @BBC6Music !’
‘Rapt’ will appear on ‘Crush Songs’, which was recorded between 2006 and 2007 and will be released September 9 via Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records.
Speaking about the new record, Karen O said: “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
Casablancas also added: “So excited, lucky and proud to be involved with such a classic album—I just wanna listen to it all day. Karen is an all-time great.”
