Guitarist, Henry Selley, of Devon based rock band I Divide is due to open the south-wests first centre purely for the captive breeding of rare octopus. Due to open in June, the centre will house over 17 different species.
I’ve always had a keen interest in marine life and was always fascinated by the octopus. My grandfather first introduced me to them as a teen and since then I’ve always wanted to find a way to preserve these beautiful creatures.
The centre is costing over 1.5 million to build and was crowd funded on Kickstarter where he offered out incentives to donate such as visitor passes, signed I Divide merchandise and even the chance for a one-to-one session with an octopus of their choice in their own home.
