Mixing alternative with a classic punk rock tone, Yearbook members Andy Halloway, Hamish Dickinson, Thomas Brooker, and Louis Martin have released their latest EP, Old Bones .
An 18 month project, the EP opens with the title track, ‘Old Bones’. The track begins with a subtle, soft-mellow beat, then adds an edgy drum beat that hypnotizes you to continue listening. Throughout the 6 tracks, the drum beats are accented with unique vocals and guitar that make each track stick out on their own. If you have a liking to mixed genre’s, ‘Old Bones’ has a track that combines quality similar to other bands, without losing their own personal sound.
‘Classic Literature’ has a very similar taste to bands like Brand New and Tubelord, with the continued high-end drum beats and raspy vocal. ‘Time Management’ as a similar taste to a My Chemical Romance song…a slower tempo, but still heavy with the ultimate rock sound that is produced through the album.
While it’s named ‘Old Bones’, you won’t find anything old in this EP. Each song gives a fresh, new vibe that is sure to please any music lovers type. From rock, to alternative, to metal…‘Old Bones’ 6-track EP is a hit.
The band have just recently finished up a UK tour with the band Swim Good, and plan to continue their tour throughout the summer.
