This Wild Life’s second London show came after a magical first evening at the St Pancras Old Church in London, but despite the wonder of that show it didn’t mean that the slightly less grand interior of the Boston Music Rooms’ wasn’t just as special. With the tour focusing on latest album Low Tides, duo Kevin Jordan and Anthony Del Grosso brought their unique mixture of heart-felt acoustic and rock music to the forefront of everyone’s mind as the venue swirled full of people.
Being an acoustic band is always tough in capturing people’s attentions enough to stop them from wanting to talk and make noise, and fortunately the crowd were mesmerized by the duo’s heartfelt tracks and soothing vocals. Alongside tracks from the latest album there’s also a handful of tracks from previous album Clouded and their acclaimed cover of ‘Sleepwalking’ by Bring Me The Horizon – a personal favourite of ours.
It takes a lot for an acoustic act to draw such attention from the crowd that people are willing to put away their phones and just soak in the music but This Wild Life manage it seeminly effortlessly. That isn’t to say the crowd don’t truly get into the feel of the set singing chorus’ to the max especially for songs such as ‘History’ and ‘Over It’. The raw emotion which comes’ from Jordan’s vocals alongside Anthony’s quick moving fret work blends together into something magical.
