The return of a band as big as Snow Patrol has been getting Hit The Floor all excited and ‘Called Out In The Dark’ is a very worthy come-back single.
It’s a satisfying formula of the things that make Snow Patrol great. For one thing, it’s simple, which is refreshing. There’s nothing over-the-top about ‘Called Out In The Dark’ and, with a voice like Gary Lightbody’s, this is perfect.
If you like ‘Shut Your Eyes’, you’re in for a treat with the band’s latest track, which instantly sounds effortlessly brilliant. The upbeat chorus will be stuck in your head and the only known cure for that is multiple listens.
Despite this, some may find this release slightly repetitive. The single features in Snow Patrol’s new digital EP, which will also include brand new singles ‘My Brothers’, ‘I’m Ready’ and ‘Fallen Empires’.
After over a decade, Snow Patrol is not going anywhere and we think that the band still has a lot to offer, if ‘Called Out In The Dark’ is anything to go by fans are sure to be downloading and enjoying worldwide!
