Finally, Marilyn Manson has gone back to the old school industrial style! After all, it was what made him so famous and this single ‘No Reflection’ is the first release from his new album ‘Born Villain’. It delivers nothing but dirty, grimy metal that makes this year’s Marilyn Mason album so highly anticipated.
With a generic Manson start with low rumbling beats and scratchy vocals, this song may not be the new ‘Beautiful People’ or ‘Mobscene’ but it certainly has a cutting edge and a very ‘Long Hard Road Out Of Hell’ feel to it. Although it is a lot slower and calming than normal Manson tracks, it is definitely well created. Using Manson’s own label (Hell) has added a personal stint to the album, and you can hear it quite clearly in this track. This song will get you singing “Ah ah, ah ah, ah ah ohhh” all day long.
Manson says it best: “The new record put simply has the ambition and determination of how I started making music in the first place. It sounds like the first record in that it’s not afraid to do anything. I had to remove myself from my lifestyle and start fresh.”
