Review: Luxe – Luxe (EP)

London based Luxe have a self titled EP out right now! Check out what HTF thought of it.

Band: Luxe
Release: Luxe EP
Release Date: Out Now

You know that feeling when the hairs on the back of your airs stick up after the first few notes of listening to a brand new track?! Well that’s the feeling we got a few bars into Luxe’s EP. The London based band’s sound is massive. So big you wouldn’t think there were a little band playing bars and pubs around.

From the word go when the guitar riffs of ‘Anchor‘ kicks in there is one thing that will blindingly smack you in the face. This is how much front man Tom’s voice sounds like that of Brandon Flowers and how much the essence of this band sound like The Killers. By no means is this a bad thing; if anything it’s a huge blessing to Luxe.

The four tracks which adorn this EP aren’t small snappy numbers, they’re meaty tracks taking up almost twenty minutes in total. From the festival vibes that begin second track ‘The Colour Of Day’ right through to the soothing riffs of ‘Lost Souls’. ‘The Colour of Day’ is the sort of song you can imagine dancing around a grubby field in your wellies with a cider to in the sunshine! If you close your eyes you can even imagine it!

Overall it’s a beautiful first release from a band who deserve big things. If you love relaxing, soothing rock music with deep haunting vocals Luxe are the band for you!

8/10
