This album is full of passionate and heart wrenching tracks that really play on the heart strings. Songs like ‘Broken State’ and ‘One Thing’ kick off the album with serenade vocals and jumpy beats.
Although the lyrics are meaningful and poetic, the lively guitars and fast paced drums add a more upbeat and cheerful sound.
Previously released on youtube, the track ‘Unshaken’ has sing-along gang vocals with lots of energy and drive.
‘Good Intentions, Bad Directions’ is another strikingly beautiful song, with chanting chorus’ and anthemic energy.
Singer/bass player Barry MacKichan puts it best as they wanted “to make music that was honest, a transparent display of struggling with feelings of failure and doubt, coupled with strong threads of hope and rescue”. – They certainly have done that in this album.
