Review: Kids We Used To Be – And We Would Have Gotten Away With It Too (EP)

Check out HTF’s thoughts on Kids We Used To Be’s debut EP.

Band: Kids We Used To Be
Release Name: And We Would Have Gotten Away With It Too (EP)
Release Date: Out Now

The crossing over of genres in today’s music scene is something which has become incredibly common, much to our approval. It is rare for a band to stick to a ‘conventional’ formula these days, but often the results can go horribly wrong. Luckily for Kids We Used To Be however, their combination of cheeky pop-punk and brutal hardcore is just what the doctor ordered.

The six-piece have recently dropped their EP ‘And We Would Have Gotten Away With It Too’, and for a debut effort, it is bloody good! From the infectious melodies of ’30 Down’ to the crushing hardcore screams of ‘Nothing Good Happens After 2am Master’, Kids We Used To Be have found a happy medium of aggressive yet accessible music.

Having already played shows with the likes of Decade, Page 44, Polar Bear Club and Man Overboard to name but a few, the future is looking very bright for this Liverpool crew. Our only complaint with their EP? It’s not long enough! We absolutely cannot wait to hear more from Kids We Used To Be, but we suppose the repeat button will have to suffice for now…

8/10
