Keeping British rock alive are Welsh group Kids in Glass Houses, who have just released their new album ‘In Gold Blood‘. They kicked off in the scene a good few years back in 2008, but their music is still improving and pushing forward. This time their music has taken a slightly more mature style but still sounds like the KIGH we all know and love.
The first single ‘Gold Blood‘ was released a few months ago, which already built some hype up for the album. When they released the single, it was so popular that it crashed the bands server! When listening, there’s no doubt why. It has a kicking beat throughout and the raw style of vocals really liven it up. The chorus is catchy and sure to spread like water.
‘Diamond Days‘ is a great track off the album. It starts off very solitary allowing vocalist Aled Phillips voice to soar out before throwing into a powerful chanting chorus. It’s clear how the band’s music has matured but it’s definitely for the better. It’s a song that people can scream their lungs out too and stretch their hands into the air.
Another single the band has just released from the album is ‘Animals’. The whole style of it actually resembles that of legend Lenny Kravitz a bit, with the funky beat and powerful vocals. It’s got that fun factor about it and the vocals add a rough and adventurous vibe to the music. It’s a lot more up-tempo than other tracks on the album with its ravaging solos; absolutely recommended by HTF!
Listening closely to the lyrics, Kids in Glass Houses really like to motivate their audience and it really comes through in the music. ‘Only The Brave Die’ is one of those songs that you can imagine a horde of people singing along to, joining in unison with the band.
Overall, the album has some really interesting songs which will grab anyone into singing along. The matured style really makes a difference for the better and it’s sure to pick up some new fans.
