Band: Tyler Daniel Bean
Release: Everything You Do Scares Me
Release Date: Out Now!
Tyler Daniel Bean comes back from his debut LP ‘Longing’ with ‘Everything You Do Scares Me’ a two song EP that seeps into your ears through the ups and downs of life and the human ability to accept and find normalcy despite it all. This is the kind of EP you listen when it’s cold out, cuddled up a jumper too big for you with a tea the size of your head. Tyler Daniel Bean is definitely the soundtrack for the more sombre moments, connecting with lyrics and losing yourself in the track.
‘Everything You Do Scares Me’ is remarkable for its musicianship with Bean playing everything despite drums. This layering brings the EP to such a personal level that you know every part of the tracks is a part of Tyler Daniel Bean. ‘Year Of The Snake’ composes pensive and emotive lyrics about the death of a friend with pacing guitars and rough vocals all reminiscent of Brand New. Stylistically Tyler Daniel Bean’s vocal style adds the track hitting every emotion with every rasp and every spoken sung styled word.
‘I Was Wrong’ takes a different turn with a heavier feel with Bean’s vocals never moving from its register. The drums pull you through thicker and faster than the previous track but the difference between the two shows for such a short EP how diverse it can be. The instrumental sections also feel mewithoutYou-esque as the backing vocals leave us cradling our cold tea and wishing there was another track. If ‘Everything You Do Scares Me’ is just a two track taster of how Tyler Daniel Bean has grown and developed since ‘Longing’ we are intrigued to hear what great things are to come.
