It’s always pretty tough to be a electronic metal band from America coming to the UK on your first headline tour. Especially when the day you hit London happens to be a cold and windy Monday evening: the band are tired having toured extensively and come straight from a show in Belgium the night before. When the band hit the stage to a reasonably thickened out crowd none of this becomes apparent: eyes are widely open and spirits are high. Welcome to a show from The Browning.
The band released their second studio album ‘Hypernova’ in October and from the off you are thrust into a world of modern metal infused with electronics. Yes it’s something you think you’ve heard a thousand times before: but think again. When the electronic samples kick in the music doesn’t soften and become dance-able, oh no it stays heavy and fully mosh-able.
The Browning truly know how you put on a great show. Even those in the crowd who don’t really know their music and have just come to accompany a friend are moving (even if it’s just a mild head nod or a foot tap!) The band work as a team and on stage seem seamless. The Browning are a band you have to experience live to get the full experience. Make sure you catch them on tour next year with Chelsea Grin!
