Electronic enthusiasts will be no stranger to Berlin artist Sascha Ring.
Through the release of three successful album’s under the name Apparat and with electronic supergroup Moderat, Sascha has collaborated with such great’s as Ellen Allien, performed at his very own immense live club, entertained with electrifying festival performances and has played a big part in the evolution of the electronic genre.
This past year has seen Sascha Ring’s creativity and focus on returning once again to Apparat, with single ‘Black Water’ released from the album last month. Breaking down electonic boundaries, ‘Black Water’ is striking, and emotionally compelling.

Sacsha Ring enlisted the talent’s of Joshua Eustis ( Telefon Tel Aviv) and Fredo Noguerira to help him write the music from a makeshift studio in a small town during his trip in Mexico back in 2010. On his return to Europe, Sascha re-works his Mexican material with a re-inspirational direction with former electro- ‘Warren Suicide‘ bringing us the majestic completion that is ‘The Devil’s Walk.’
Beautiful production’s flow throughout this album, from introduction through to end. The album does not dissapoint, the eurphoric magical sound’s feels like we get taken on a journey. Soft melancholic vocal’s, guitar and keyboard’s gives this album an entrancing orchestral sound. You can feel the drive in emotion and experimentation to investigate a new musical realm.
Apparat are amazing at captivating the listener and bringing excitement in what the next track has instore. You can imagine hearing this live, goosebumps we are sure, whilst being able to simply lie back and take in the majestical sounds as this album moves in story feeling progression.
Track ‘Goodbye’ draw’s you in with strong piano, guitar riffs and vocal’s. This is one of many stand out track’s from the album and you will find yourself in a sleepen awaken solace.
‘Candil De La Calle’ stands out, with expressive lyrics, vocals, and ambient computer production.
Apparat show entrancing dynamic’s throughout the album, and you can see how they are able to perform both immense computer production’s and live band performances. ‘The Devil’s Walk’ is an incredible album. Beautiful and striking are two of the best descriptive word’s to summarise this electronic creation.
