Another month, another shed load of albums MOSH have reviewed. This month, we think one band has smashed down genre barriers, another has regained their status as one of Britain’s best, and a new arrival has paved the way for them to become one of the biggest rock acts around. Here’s a quick round-up of our favourite records we checked out this past month (and remember to click on the artwork to read our full review).
Man Overboard / Senses Fail – Split
4.5/5
“Both bands are ridiculously on point, and for what a split EP is, it really does make a fantastic piece of fun in only 4 tracks. There should be no complaints from either camp for this one, have a bit of fun and find a new band in the process.”
Cancer Bats – Searching For Zero
4.5/5
“Searching For Zero is unmistakably Cancer Bats through and through, it’s crushing and just makes you want to mosh and party to night away. Any fan of Cancer Bats will be incredibly happy with what they’ve produced, and to be quite frank, any fan of punk music will appreciate the all-out attack that they’ve created with these tracks.”
Sleeping With Sirens – Madness
5/5
“Madness shows that Sleeping With Sirens are definitely breaking down the barriers between genres […] Sleeping With Sirens have definitely stepped up, and made an album that showcases just how multifaceted they truly are. Madness definitely provides an anthem for every SWS fan.”
While She Sleeps – Brainwashed
4/5
“Brainwashed is the product of anger and frustration directed towards a number of personal and political topics, and it is all the better for it. While She Sleeps can now press on and regain their status as one of Britain’s prestigious exports – not that they ever lost it, mind you.”
We Are Harlot – We Are Harlot
4.5/5
“Honestly, we could be looking at one of the next BIG names in rock here. Let’s make a list. The look? Check. The sound? Check. The talent? CHECK! This album is not just great, above all else it’s consistent. One of the best debuts we’ve heard in a long ass time.”
