Band: Feeder
Venue: Exeter Lemon Grove
Date: 30/01/12
The age range within tonight’s venue was humbling. Young and old Feeder fans had flocked to Exeter’s Lemon Grove to see the legendary Welsh rockers perform an hour long set of past and present delights.
Feeder are now over a decade old and classic gems such as ‘Buck Rogers’ and ‘Just A Day’, were sadly, all the sold out crowd seemed to want and the band’s new material was met with almost complete apathy.
We can only imagine how irritating it must be to play the same songs for such a long period of time, but the smiles on leading man Grant Nicholas’ face countered any sense of bitterness. The entire vicinity bellowed the tracks word for word from beginning to end. The buzz you must get from experiencing that everyday must be purely phenomenal.
Feeder’s new album ‘Generation Freakshow’ is due for release in April and some felt honoured to be witnessing some new exclusives from the trio. Newbie track ‘Borders’ owned the best crowd reaction, as a sea of waving hands and swaying bodies took over the room.
Grant Nicholas and co are indie rock gods and tonight proved that you can still sell out a crowd and ring the ear drums of a captivated audience in their masses after over ten years of contribution to music.
