Live Review: Bastille – Shepherds Bush Empire, London – 28/03/13

We checked Bastille at their sold-out headline show in London recently. Check out what we thought inside..

Band: Bastille
Venue: Shepherds Bush Empire, London
Date: 28/03/2013

This band came out of nowhere, seriously, like magic they appeared and now their album is one of the best selling debuts of the year so far. As soon as they took to the stage it was obvious why, live they are something else and their hard work has clearly paid off.

Debut album ‘Bad Blood’ is one of those albums you can whack on in your bedroom and have a good boogie to. The fact that tonight you can do the exact same thing with hundreds of people surrounding you doing the same thing was spectacular. Bastille’s unique talent seems to have touched many, with eveyone in the room watching them this evening among them.

Single releases such as title track ‘Bad Blood’ and Radio 1 smash single ‘Flaws’ are among the favourites of the evening. ‘Flaws’ saw vocalist Dan climb through the top balcony and sing to the mesmerized faces of his onlookers. What a complete nutter, but obviously we all loved it!

If you ever get the chance to be lucky enough to watch Bastille live then we highly recommend you doing so. Not only do they give a top-notch performance, they sound even better then on record – bravo!

9/10
