It’s impressive to see how far John has come since he burst onto the scene with his number one hit with Rudimental ‘Feel The Love’ . The intro video to his show proves just that with a montage of the year he has had, showcasing him on popular TV shows he has appeared on such as The Jonathan Ross Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Starting with a bang, his opening number is the recent chart topping single with Calvin Harris ‘Blame‘ as he comes through the top of the stage. Despite being nearly 30 minutes late, the crowd don’t seem to care one bit.
He then slows the pace a little with the album title track ‘Tribute‘ followed by ‘Try‘. The singer-songwriter is well known for his love songs and continues to impress with fan favourite and single ‘Cheating‘, as the crowd sing every word. “This is not an awards speech, it’s a concert but…” John says, taking a minute to thank his family, friends and record lable for the year he’s had.
‘Gold Dust’ is his pre-encore song and it really lifts everyone’s mood, especially when gold confetti is blown everywhere, making it a really special moment of the show.
Of course no John Newman show is complete without him playing his debut number one single ‘Love Me Again‘ as he shouts to the crowd “One more song, are you ready?!”
The only song missing from the show was his track ‘Feel The Love’ which we feel the crowd were expecting to make an appearance. However regardless of that, the packed out crowd didn’t seem to be that phased about it.
