Metalcore band Gone By Tomorrow are about to release their new EP Blank Future on the 16th October.

First track ‘Undefined’ is the shortest track on the EP, but probably one of the best. The song starts off with a really catchy, soft, drum-influenced melody, and later turns into a heavy metal track. The easy-going clean vocals, typical growly unclean vocals, and heavy metalcore tune work well together.

Another great track on the EP is ‘I Saved Latin, What Did You Ever Do’ which, although doesn’t have any real stand-out moments, is a pretty solid track. It has a smooth, catchy melody, and features some really great clean vocals.

The rest of the EP is pretty much the typical stuff you’d expect from a metalcore/post-hardcore band. There aren’t any tracks we’d consider game changers, but nonetheless, they’re good. The EP is something you can listen to quite happily, with no complaints, but isn’t anything new or different in the scene. There are a lot of similarities to bands like We Came As Romans, Asking Alexandria, et

Again, it’s not a bad thing. The EP is good; the production is sick, both clean and unclean vocals are smooth and audible, and the instrumental work is intricate and powerful. So definitely listen to Blank Future, because if metalcore is your thing, and you like bands like Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans and Our Last Night, you’ll like Gone By Tomorrow.
