The mighty Slayer have just premiered a brutal new track entitled ‘When The Stillness Comes’.
The track, which will appear on the bands upcoming new album, and tackles the subject of a guy who wakes up at a crime scene to then realise he has somehow killed everyone.
Talking to Rolling Stone, guitarist and song-writer, Kerry King, had this to say about the writing of track:
“We were touring Europe and we had a three-hour ride in some fucking minivan, and I’m just miserable in the backseat, not into anything,”
“So I just stated jotting down hateful thoughts. It’s about a dude who wakes up at a crime scene and realizes he’s killed everybody. It’s really cool.”
As well as appearing on the new album, the track will also appear on the bands upcoming Record Store Day release on 7″ vinyl picture-disc.
The new album has yet to have an official release date or title but is due to hit stores this summer and, if the predictions going round are anything to go by, this could see Slayer release what could be the biggest selling metal release of the year.
Other tracks confirmed for the album include ‘Implode’ which was released as a free download last year and ‘Atrocity Vendor’ which was actually released as a B-Side to their World Painted Blood 7″. Both will tracks will be updated and re-recorded for the new release.
