Tyler, The Creator was allegedly arrested yesterday afternoon for inciting a riot at festival South By Southwest on Thursday.
The rapper was performing his headline concert for the festival’s Converse/Thrasher “Death Match” event on Thursday afternoon when he encouraged fans to break down the gates to the venue. The Scoot Inn, which holds a 999 capacity, was already full when Tyler, The Creator urged the crowd to storm the venue and break down the gates and barriers preventing the venue from overcrowding.
Yesterday afternoon he was arrested at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport under the allegation of “encouraged behaviour causing an immediate danger and injury to persons”. A statement released by authorities at the Austin Police Department determined that “regardless of the size of a crowd, the encouragement of unruly and unlawful behaviour is against the law and cannot be tolerated.”
Reports claim that he has been charged with Riot Class A Misdemeanour and has a bond of 25,000 dollars.
