Whether you’ve heard of Ruby Goe or not, now is the time to get involved with her music. She’s been referred to by The Guardian as “The M.I.A with tunes” however as much as we love M.I.A, we think this girl is in a league of her own and her new video for ‘Badman‘ is definitely proof of this.
Within the video for ‘Badman’ we are subjected to splashes of a Kill Bill inspired narrative, as we shift between what is presumably the ‘badman’s’ point of you, to being a fly in the grave (so to speak). The video flashes glimpses of a slightly battered Ruby from the start, trying to escape from what appears to be a buried coffin. As terrifying as this all may sound, the video is brilliant and the track, even better. HTF look forward to seeing this London based babe really take off in 2012. Watch this space.
